Description
Irish fly dressers have a long tradition with the classic wet fly, due to our vast array of wild lakes and loughs, the wet fly has been used and developed by generations of anglers. There are thousands upon thousands of dressings out there for lough style wets and every fly dresser has their own perception on colours, shapes, proportions and tying styles. I was lucky enough as a young lad to spend every Friday evening during the winter with the legendary fly dresser, Noel Shields in his home in Greystones, Co Wicklow. Here Noel drummed into me the classic style of tying wets and understanding of how to tie and use materials for effective tying.
